Do we have a prefered TIA Portal version or are we free to use any of the latest releases?

Alfonso suggested to use the v20, which is the latest, but I currently do not have license for this one. I do, however, have license for v19.

There is no preferred version of TIA Portal. If you have a V19 license, you can use it. In the future, migrating to the next version will be very easy.

The PLC program has been successfully migrated from Step 7 Classic to TIA Portal V19 as part of the modernization and system standardization process. This migration facilitates future updates and ensures compatibility with newer Siemens tools and platforms.

Please find attached the following files for your review:

1.- "Rfm-cs_StartMigration.zip". This archive contains the original project in Step 7 Classic format. It has been prepared specifically for migration to TIA Portal V19, with all necessary configurations included.

2.- "RFM-CS_V0020250409_1834.zap19". This file is the migrated version of the project, now fully functional in TIA Portal V19. It includes all hardware configurations, networks, and logic converted and adapted to the new environment.

3.- Migration Report: A comprehensive document outlining the steps taken during the migration process. It includes details on the issues encountered (e.g., warning messages), the changes applied to resolve them, and any adjustments made to the program to ensure optimal performance in TIA Portal.

The current internal firmware version of the CPU 317-2 PN/DP (6ES7 317-2EK14-0AB0) is version 3.2.

Before proceeding with the migration of the automation project to TIA Portal V19, it is necessary to update the CPU’s internal firmware to version 3.2.19. This firmware upgrade is a prerequisite to ensure compatibility with the features and requirements of the newer Siemens software program "TIA PORTAL".

The step-by-step procedure for performing the firmware upgrade is available on the official Siemens support website [[https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/document/40362228/firmware-updates-for-cpu-317-2-pn-dp-(6es7317-2ek14-0ab0)?dti=0&lc=en-ES]] with Entry ID: 40362228.

Reviewing the PLC SW already migrated to TIA Portal v19 I have seen a minor error with connection names.
I have renamed them to avoid errors.
